Dan's First World

As the name implies, this is the first Minecraft world where I punched my first tree. I've built a lot of bases, explored a ton, and learned a lot about how Minecraft works.

I got into playing Minecraft because of my kids. By 2018, Minecraft had completely saturated kid culture, and Isaac brought home a bunch of Minecraft books, wanting me to read them to him. At first, I was not very excited to do this. All I knew about Minecraft was that it was a weird game with bad graphics that lots of kids were obsessed with.

However as I started reading about it, I started to get sort of intrigued. I had never played a game with a procedurally generated near-infinite world. I started playing it at some point, and got completely hooked. One day, Isaac saw the Minecraft icon on our computer desktop and thus began our family's Minecraft era.

I kept playing this same world the whole time. Eventually I managed to beat the Ender dragon, though I still haven't done the Wither or ocean monuments. I really like building and exploring caves, and connecting distant settlements with railways.
